New points system for the kids!
I have a really hard time getting the kids to help around the house. We have tried chore charts, allowances, treasure chest prizes and chore coupons. Nothing has worked! So I came up with an idea for a point system that allows them to earn "points" or pom poms to put in their jars after a day of doing their schoolwork, helping with chores, etc. At night before we start our bedtime routine I tell the kids I'm going to set the timer for 6 minutes and see how much we can clean up in that time. These kids go CRAZY!!! They love it! And I didn't threaten a punishment if it didn't get clean I just said ready, set, go and off they went!!! So far the point system is a great thing!!
Best routine ever!!
So one of my resolutions this year is to become more organized and get rid of some of the clutter that is taking over my home. I took the kids to the library yesterday and there in front of me, not even looking for it, was the "Flylady's" book. I have read some of her posts and blogs and even signed up for the emails but never actually did any of them. I started reading the book and decided I was going to try to do it for one day, if it didn't work oh well! Well I did shine my sink and when I got up the next morning to that squeaky clean sink I felt so much relief!! I've been keeping up with it since then and things are going so great!! Even the kids are getting into it! Thanks to www.flylady.com

So I found lapbooks!
Ok so Logan who is 9 has been having some attitude issues and problems with friends lately so I decided that this good character lapbook would be perfect!!!
And this is Mallorie's. She loves this book and now she can brush up on her coloring on paper skills instead of using my walls!!
And Mr. Max.... He asks such great questions that I just never know the right answer to. He's always asking, "Did the workers make this or did God?". So I made this creation lapbook for him!
Ok I've been homeschooling for a while now and I just discovered lapbooks. They are amazing! I found subjects that would fit perfectly with my kids "need to know now" subjects and they are having a blast with them. Here's a few new ones I've made!
